What do we do with our photos – Newborn Photographer Oran Park
You found a newborn photographer servicing your area of Oran Park, you have your gorgeous portfolio. You love them all, but what do you do next? There seems to be a trend of people just grabbing digital files and then years later those files are still sitting on the USB, never looked at, never enjoyed. A photograph isn’t a photograph until it is printed. You need to get your photos up on your walls or printed in a n album or a book, you need to look at them daily, you need to let your children know how cherished and adored they are by seeing themselves within the family unit on a daily basis. Recent studies have shown that this can boost to childs self-esteem by up to 24%! And while we all want the best for our kids, ultimately our family is the most important thing we have, family is the absolute best thing in our lives. A house filled with stunning portraits is part of what makes it home and I can’t think of better artwork to have on our walls, in my home we are brimming with family portraits and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
So what are your options? Well here at Dragonfly Portraits we have a product and a option to suit every budget, every personal choice, every sized home from wall art to books to albums and little treasures (as I like to call them) which are little artworks, a few unique feature pieces.
Let’s start with wall art now. Wall art these days offers of a whole range of options. We have the classic timeless framed print that will never cease to be something that we will treasure on our walls. I have a big range of frames available there’s a big range of matt board available also. Or you can simply just have your print framed without a matt. Now we also have wood prints so wood prints involve your images printed on a piece of timber. Yes we have to see this to believe it, it is incredibly beautiful the quality is absolutely amazing and one super cool things is the wood can be circular so if you would like to have three round portraits up on your wall, then that’s an option that can be done. As well as wood prints we also have boxed canvas, so boxed canvas is your typical canvas print but they are framed with black, white frame or Tasmanian oak frame. Which gives a nice tidy look, a professional finish and allows you to have several canvases nestled together to create a story on your wall. Boxed canvas is a blend between framing and canvas prints, they are also light weight. For example, a great bonus is if you have five canvases bundled together and you have two children, later on you can keep one (when your children are adults) one child can take two canvases, and your other child can take two in the collection. The collection gets separated but they still look amazing on their own.
After Wall art we have the galleries. So the galleries are several prints in the one frame. I have gallery four and a gallery nine for example. The gallery four has four different prints but it’s in the one frame so if you live in an apartment or you only have one wall space that you’d like to fill galleries are an option. There is also a gallery three so that’s three prints in the one frame tell your story. Gallery three is great if you have a small space so it can be tall and skinny or it’s long and skinny… great for obscure spots or just when you have a little section of wall need to fill, that will fit in there perfectly so as well as wall art we have galleries available too.
Then we had to portrait boxes so portrait boxes are boxes that hold your portraits. The portrait box is linen covered and it holds 5 x 7″ loose prints so the idea here is you get your box of portraits you frame them and you sprinkle them around your home, you have a couple in your lounge room, a couple your dining area, one on your bedside table, a couple in your Childs room just sprinkled around… you can also give them as gifts. After the portait box we have the feature box. It has a brass clasp to keep it closed and on the lid we have a photo, and your chosen text, so this could be your baby’s name and date of birth. Open up, inside we have another space for a message inside the lid that could be babies birth details and time, weight, length and then we have a beautiful ribbon that you lift up and you will be able to hold your 20 matted prints so there is twenty 5 x 7″ prints which have been matted, so they’re in a mat and they’re ready to frame. Afterwards when the box is empty it makes a beautiful memory box for your Bubs first pair of shoes, first lock of hair, and teeth that are falling out, anything you wish to keep that’s a good spot to keep them. After portrait boxes we have books and of course albums. Albums are timeless and classic, always loved. We have four here available in the studio. The portrait album is a matted album so the photograph has been printed and it sits inside a matted page. The Portrait Album can fit 10 or 20 5×7″, it has a linen cover and you have three lines of text there to write details for your little one. In the Feature Album the photos are printed on the page, this gives us more options we have different layouts to choose from, we can fit more than one photo per page, we can also add text too if you wish, birth details or a message to your baby, you can do that on the feature album. The baby book is an exact duplicate of the feature album so it’s a 5 x 7″ album and it is exact same layout as the feature album so the idea is that you give a baby book to family as a gift or you just keep it for the little one to be able to look through and touch regularly and you keep the big feature album. The only difference with the baby book is that the cover has been printed so the photo that’s on front of the feature album will come with the cover that’s on the front of the baby book. We also have the keepsake book which is a gorgeous little album, an ideal gift to give to grandparents or anyone else who has been a significant person during this time of life.
Now after albums, boxes and wall art we have a couple of little special things I like to call little treasures. And they include custom birth announcement / thank you cards, art tiles, stone prints, framed stone prints, and of course the light box. The light box is a big favourite, it is a framed print in a frame that is a little higher like a box, and within that boxed frame we have tiny little lights which illuminate the whole box and your print, and this doubles as a nightlight in your Childs room and it’s also in feature piece in your home. The art til is made of Perspex the images are printed on the back and the light just shines through and bounces around. They are truly illuminous and look amazing in your babies room. The stone print is exactly pretty much what is the name suggests, your print is printed on a little piece of stone, absolutely beautiful, something unique, something you can’t find anywhere else, and there is also the option of having the stone framed in reclaimed Australian timber.
